FERPA Employee Handbook

FERPA Employee Handbook

Every year, each employee is required to review the following handbook. It includes a general discussion of the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), articles posted here, and any additional questions you may have on the issue.

For a full understanding of FERPA and its stipulations, please read the actual statute: https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/20/1232g and the actual regulations: https://www.law.cornell.edu/cfr/text/34/part-99

Degree Analytics is designed in accordance with best practices found here: http://ptac.ed.gov/sites/default/files/Vendor%20FAQ.pdf

Anyone handling student record data through analytics, design, or otherwise is required to be aware of the regulations of FERPA. We will discuss this in a training on a yearly basis; however, at any time you may ask any question or raise any risk you see without any risk of repercussions.

By signing this employee handbook, you agree that you have read all required documents, understand their meaning, and your obligations.
