Integrating AP Inventory
There are a few components that need to be collected from Mist. They include:
Organization ID
API Key
Adding a Degree Analytics Read-Only User
Below you will find detailed information on how to retrieve this information and insure it requires the minimum necessary permissions.
Getting the Mist Organization ID
The organization id can be found after logging into https://manage.mist.com
To get the Organization ID, go to Organization
→ Settings
. You will then have the option to copy the Organization ID per the screen shot:
Getting an API Token
1. Navigate to Settings
On the Organization
→ Settings
Page, scroll down to API Token
and click Create Token
2. Create an API Token
Name the token
DegreeAnalytics
or something similar to identify it as belonging to Degree Analytics.Select the
Observer
roleSelect
All Sites
if full campus, or can distinguish and name individual sites as necessary
NOTE: This API Token is used for retrieving AP Inventory information, so only a read-only Observer role is needed
Generate API Key
Hit the Generate
Button and store the API
token. This will need be needed later
Creating a DA User on Mist
Degree Analytics will use this user to log in and verify locations of where Access Points are located. This only requires a read-only “Observer” role
1. Navigate to Organizations → Administrators
2. Invite Administrator
A new user can be generated by clicking the Invite Administrator button

Once the user is created, contact your Degree Analytics representative in order to complete the process.
